NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
This is a scheme run by the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), in collaboration with local residents who act as street coordinators (for a list, click here). All residents are encouraged to be aware of what is happening in their street, keep an eye on neighbours' houses if they are away, notice strangers and report anything suspicious to the police. Street coordinators receive information from the SNT and share it with their neighbours. NHW window stickers are available, as are other gadgets that can help, for example Smartwater, with which you mark valuable items in case of burglary. Many insurance companies reduce premiums for members of NHW. The name of your street coordinator can be obtained from SNT PCSO Rene Biro.
AGRA hosts an annual public meeting in September, which is attended by the appropriate people from the Police and Council, who tell us of their work and answer any questions we may have.
